Awards & Accolades
By the age of 70, Vera Koo was both a national and world titleholder in the sport of Action Pistol Shooting. Vera was the first and only woman in the history of the NRA’s Bianchi Cup to win eight National Women’s titles. She’s won two World titles and was the first woman to place in the overall top 20 at the NRA Bianchi Cup, in 2001. Listed below is a comprehensive list of her awards and accolades.
• Gold medal, women’s division, at the 1996 American Handgunner World Shoot-off Championship, Montrose, Colorado
• 1999 Top Women’s Team at the NRA World Action Pistol Championship in Hamilton, New Zealand; as a member of the U.S. Women’s Team, Vera competed with teammate Julie Golob
• Gold medal in the women’s division at 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008 NRA National Action Pistol (Bianchi) Championship, Columbia, Missouri
• Gold medal in the women’s division at the 1999 European Action Pistol Championship, Tierney, Italy
• Gold medal, Women’s Team, at the 2012 NRA World Action Pistol Championship in Philippsburg, Germany. Vera competed with teammate Helen Jeavon. Vera also captured the bronze medal in the Women’s Division at the World Championship as part of the U.S. National Shooting Team, the first time the U.S. team included female members in the Open Category. The other members of the team were Ms. Jessie Duff, Ms. Julie Golob, and Mr. Kim Beckwith
• Gold medal at the 2010 NRA World Action Pistol Championship in Blacktown, Australia. Vera competed with teammate Julie Golob. Vera also captured second place in the Women’s Category at the World Championship as part of the USA National Shooting Team
• Gold medal, Individual Award, at the 2004 NRA World Action Pistol Championship, Columbia, Missouri.
• Gold medal in the women’s division at the 2007 European Open/Action Pistol Championship, Phillipsburg, Germany
• Gold medal, women’s division, at the 2004 and 2005 Master’s Championship, Barry, Illinois
• Gold medal in the women’s division at the 2003 Regional Action Pistol Championship, Kansas City, Missouri
• Bronze medal, Women’s Team, at the 2018 NRA World Action Pistol Championship in Hallsville, Missouri. Vera competed with teammate Jessie Harrison

• Vera set a women’s record in 1997 for the highest score in the Practical Even at the National Action Pistol Championship in Columbia, Missouri. Her score was 480-40X.
• Vera has been recognized for setting a national record for the top score by a woman on the outdoor action pistol Crawford Barricade in San Antonio, Texas, on October 8, 2005. She shot 480-45X.
• In September 2006, Vera set a national record for women’s score and senior’s score in the Barricade Event, 480-43X.
• In November 2010, Vera was recognized for setting a national Senior record in the outdoor action pistol Modified Mover-AP Target, Open Sights, shooting 461-26X; and a national Women’s record in the outdoor action pistol Moving-AP Target, shooting 223-10X.
• In August 2011, Vera was recognized for co-holding a national record for senior’s score in the Falling Plate Event, 480-48X.
• Vera set a national record for women’s score in the Combat Event, shooting a 578, in September 2011.
• Vera has been recognized for setting a national record for women’s score in the Practical Even, 480-35X, in October 2011.
• In September 2015, Vera set a national record for women’s score in the Texas Mover-AP Target, shooting 466-23X.
• In April 2016, Vera was recognized for setting a national Grand Senior record for her score in the Barricade Event, 480-45X; Modified Moving Target, 462-25X; Falling Plate Event, 460-46X; and the Practical Event, 480-32X.
• In November 2017, Vera was recognized for setting a national Grand Senior record in the outdoor action pistol Modified Moving Target Event, Optical Sights, shooting 462-26X.
• Vera Koo was a member of the United States World Action Pistol Shooting Team from 1999 through 2018.
