Gone are the days of considering one’s senior years as a time spent sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, watching the world go by – especially if you are Vera Koo. After retiring from the pistol shooting sports, she pursued shotgun shooting and is now competing in the Huntsman World Senior Games.

When Vera’s mentor, Jim O’Young told her she would compete again, she was skeptical. However, after she did some research on the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah, she was in.

“When I first saw Nick, I thought he was about 80-years old. I found out later that he’s 10 years senior to that, but his age doesn’t detract from his ability. He shoots superbly. In “My Shotgun Shooting Future,” she explains how this motivates her to train harder and participate in more competitions.
