She’s a warrior. She’ll tell you what that means to her in her first column at Women’s Outdoor News (The WON). Vera Koo, professional competition shooter, describes her rise to the top of the shooting world, her recent fall (which included a spiral fracture of her right fibula and tibia last spring) and her fortitude to pick herself up, heal and start training again.
“Move over, Vera Wang and Vera Bradley,” said The WON’s publisher, Barbara Baird. “I am delighted to add Vera Koo to our fine lineup of columnists at The WON, and I know she will inspire, educate and entertain – probably all in the same column. A woman of fortitude and so highly respected in the shooting world, Vera Koo has a story to tell, and she will share it at The WON.”
Vera brings years of competitive experience, along with a Zen-like attitude and warrior spirit to the written word. She is an 8-time National Action Pistol Woman Champion who holds 2 World individual titles. Her most recent win was a Gold for Team Women (2-person team) at the NRA World Action Pistol Championship in Germany in September 2012. Vera is proud to be part of the United States Action Pistol Shooting Team since 1999.
“Writing for The WON will be both a challenging feat and an exciting adventure, and I am looking forward to learning the new craft and also, I will be looking for feedback from my readers,” said Vera.
