Throughout the years, family members of Vera Koo have contributed to her column in The WON. In this post, we focus on two articles written by her husband, Carlos, whom Vera frequently credits as the driving force behind her perseverance.
卑詩省三文魚釣之旅
On this salmon fishing trip, Carlos brought his oldest daughter, Christina, along for the first time to Moutcha Bay Resort.
“The resort is so remote that you cannot even receive cell service on the resort and must use the satellite phone at the resort office if you need to make a phone call. It was good to spend some quality time with my daughter, free of distractions,” said Carlos while describing the Moutcha Bay Resort.
“Salmon Fishing in British Columbia,” Carlos beautifully describes this memorable father/daughter trip. From the description of the scenery to the explanation on how they caught the salmon, you’ll feel as if you’re on the boat right alongside them with your fishing pole.

Carlos once again takes his daughter, Christina, along with him on an adventure, this time to a shark arena in the clear waters of the Caribbean.
“I like activities with a lot of action, and diving offers that. It’s captivating to see all the tropical fish. It’s a totally different experience than being on the land. There’s a blast of color all around you, and at times fish are inches from your face,” mentions Carlos about his diving experiences.
“Shark Adventure: A Dive Into a Shark Arena” offers a look at what drove Carlos to seek new adventures, while Vera focused on her training and competition schedule. He shares what it’s like to sit among the sharks as the feeder coerces them into the shark arena at Stuart’s Cove in Nassau, Bahamas.
It’s evident from Carlos’s posts that he and Vera are well-balanced in their love of adventure and zest for life. No wonder Vera says they share “Shing Ping,” which means “harmony.”
